We are looking for a new Director to lead the ongoing development of one of New Zealand’s foremost regional museums and art galleries and one of Rotorua’s most iconic and successful visitor attractions.
Located in the historic Bathhouse building, Rotorua Museum enjoys a very high visitation and is considered a “must see” attraction for international visitors to the city. A recent $23 million redevelopment has resulted in numerous new exhibition spaces, plus greatly enhanced back- of-house facilities.
The Director will provide professional leadership and influence across the organisation and externally. The successful candidate will have significant experience and reputation in the museum or tourism sectors, have extensive networks nationally and internationally, and will possess the drive and skill to achieve ambitious visitor and revenue targets whilst maintaining the museum’s reputation as a centre of pride for Te Arawa and the whole Rotorua community.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to make a real difference to both Rotorua Museum and the Rotorua District. We offer a stimulating and supportive workplace and the chance to work in one of New Zealand’s most important historic buildings. For more about Rotorua Museum and the Rotorua region, go to www.rotoruanz.com and www.rotoruamuseum.co.nz .
