Join Kāhui Kaitiaki at our up-coming hui to be held at Pūrekireki Marae in Pirongia, Te Awamutu from the 18 – 20 October, 2017. The hui kaupapa is Hauora: Maintaining and Nurturing Cultural and Spiritual Well-being in our Work and Sector.
This is an opportunity to come together in a marae environment, to network and share our knowledge and experiences in the museum and gallery sector. Leaders and experts in our sector will engage with us and present at the hui to fill our kete with insights, tools and resources to improve our shared well-being.We are being hosted by Te Awamutu Museum with Henriata Nicholas. Our hui will include a trip to Waitomo Discovery Centre to engage with hau kainga there and visit the caves.
Kāhui Kaitiaki objectives include;
- professional development and innovative practice
- succession planning to increase Māori and Pacific representation in museum leadership
- governance roles and support for upward mobility of our professional cohort across the sector
- encourage the application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and diversity in our practice and institutions

Payment and Cancellation Policy
All hui fees must be paid by 16 October 2017.
Before registration closes (October 9th) there is no cancellation fee and all pre-paid hui fees will be refunded. After registrations closes there are no refunds except in exceptional circumstances.
