Kāhui Kaitiaki: he taonga ora, he tangata ora, is a network of Māori working in museums and galleries throughout Aotearoa. From 1pm the 11th to 12:30pm the 13th October this year we are hosting a hui, Tītiro Whakamua, at Kohupātiki Marae in Clive, Hawke’s Bay. This is an opportunity for Kāhui Kaitiaki to engage in a dynamic network of support while establishing a legacy for the future.
There will be a range of speakers with expertise grounded in mātauranga Māori. Topics range from collecting and caring for taonga, working with indigenous artists, mapping iwi heritage sites, museum education, bilingual approaches within the sector and the relevance of Wai 262 in museum practice.
Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi.
