The museum and gallery sectors have critical roles to play in supporting our nation to thrive culturally, socially and economically. Through our members, we reach every region and corner of Aotearoa, from the largest cities to the smallest towns. Our members are critical to community cohesion and wellbeing, research, social and scientific advancement and the creation of new knowledge. We preserve taonga and the nation’s memory and we deliver learning and education services.
Museums Aotearoa is the membership organisation representing museums and galleries. We advocate for our members and showcase their contribution to culture and heritage, tourism, education, science, research and the wellbeing of communities.
