Collection Digitisation Technician

Are you passionate about Taranaki heritage and want to help ensure it is accessible to our community and future generations? Puke Ariki - New Plymouth's combined Museum, Library and Visitor Information Centre is looking for a Collection Digitisation Technician to join our Heritage Collections team.

In this permanent, part-time role you will be responsible for digitising collection items to heritage preservation standards. Your day to day tasks will include photographic capture of 2D and 3D collection items for preservation and access, digital image management and preparation for public access, cataloguing heritage collection items and record maintenance using Vernon CMS, among other tasks to ensure the digital preservation of our records. You will also assist the Digital Specialist in the creation of digital systems and products for the web site and exhibitions.

To be successful in this role you hold a relevant tertiary qualification, have substantial experience in the use of studio camera, lighting equipment and Creative Cloud. Experience in the collection management database Vernon CMS and heritage collection handling is seen as an advantage.
