Collections Photographer, Project Ark

Gore District Council

On behalf of the Southland Regional Heritage Committee, the Gore District Council invites applications from interested people to form a roving team principally working at the Te Hikoi museum in Riverton. The roles are part of the Project Ark regional strategy.

The project involves cataloguing collections using eHive, imaging, marking and packing museum collections. The following positions will commence on 2 November 2020 for a fixed term of 20 months.

1. Cataloguer - primarily involves researching and cataloguing collections using eHive.
2. Technician - primarily marking, packing and storing collections.
3. Photographer - requires studio photography skills and the ability to control flash lighting to produce quality images of heritage objects.

Project Ark is a strategic, regional approach to small museum collection management and these positions are at the heart of this initiative. Here is the project’s work to date.
