The Waitaki Museum & Archive Te Whare Taoka o Waitaki

The Waitaki Museum & Archive Te Whare Taoka o Waitaki is an active small museum, serving Ōamaru and the wider Waitaki region and is administered by the Waitaki District Council. The Museum building is currently being refurbished including new exhibition spaces and a refitted collection store due to be completed in 2022.

In addition to maintaining a significant permanent collection, the Waitaki Museum interprets its collection via permanent and temporary exhibitions, public programmes and other outreach activities.

We are looking for someone with experience in the curation of museum exhibitions and collections including written interpretation. A passion for history, attention to detail and the ability to think and write creatively are all essential attributes.

The position is full time, and the successful applicant will be fully involved in all aspects of museum operation. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of, and contribute to, the development of the Waitaki District's growing heritage and arts community.
