MOTAT is a hands-on, interactive museum that puts Kiwi innovation and technology at the forefront of the visitor experience. It has long been the home of New Zealand transport and technology and is transforming to create immersive and exciting environments in which to tell incredible stories. 


MOTAT is looking for an Exhibitions Graphic Designer who will be responsible for developing high quality, professional graphic design for exhibitions and other signage around MOTAT, in accordance with the exhibition development process. You will have a great understanding of producing a broad range of graphic design within a multi-faceted environment. As a key member of the Exhibitions team you will have a collaborative approach and work as part of a team dedicated to devising and delivering exhibitions based on MOTAT’s strategic goals and aligned with our collection strengths and target audiences. 


We are looking for a creative Graphic Designer with demonstrated 5 years plus experience in design within a museum or similar visitor-focussed environment. The ability to apply this to a STEAM-based visitor experience is desirable. You will have experience in a wide range of display materials and techniques. Key to the role are excellent time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and prioritise workloads across multiple projects. Strong project management and contractor management skills as essential as you will work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
