This approach continues to bring success and growth. An opportunity has arisen for an excellent candidate to join us in the capacity of Head of Art within our Art team.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a highly organized individual with a passion for New Zealand art who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, an expert knowledge of New Zealand art, a proven ability to build and nurture commercial relationships, experience managing a team and a strong drive to generate revenue for the business.
The role’s responsibilities include sourcing high-quality artworks for sale at auction, appraising and valuing artworks, selling artworks, representing the company at industry events, writing proposals and catalogue texts, overseeing the production of company publications, and managing the departments team and day-to day operations. Reporting to, and working closely with the Director of Art, the successful candidate will have oversight of all intermediate tier and online art sales. They will also make a significant contribution to the success of the company’s flagship sales.

Essential Criteria
- Sales experience and commercial acumen
- Management experience
- Art industry experience (minimum of 5 years)
- A tertiary qualification in fine art and/or art history
- Expert working knowledge of New Zealand Art
- A high standard of written competency
- Exceptional computer literacy
- Excellent personal presentation
Due to the nature of our business, this role may require some weekend work therefore flexibility is required.
