Lead Educator – STEAM Cells (Fixed Term)

MOTAT is an interactive museum with a focus on creating a fun, visually stimulating environment for our visitors. It is home to a unique mix of collections and experiences and our vision is to educate and inspire the innovators of tomorrow.

We are looking for an experienced Educator to hit the ground running on a one-year fixed term parental leave position within our dedicated and passionate Education team. You will be responsible for managing MOTAT’s STEAM Cell educational offer, this includes delivery of education programmes that provide interactive and engaging learning experiences for students from ECE to Yr 10. Your enthusiasm and ability to deliver our education programme to a high standard for all age groups, will ensure all tamariki feel inspired to be the innovators of tomorrow.

You will have a NZ teaching experience in ECE, primary and/or secondary sector, with working knowledge of the NZ Curriculum and Te Whariki, coupled with the ability to underpin this understanding to your practice, ensuring teacher/students’ needs and specific requirements of MOTAT’s contracted commitments are met. Experience in contract management and reporting is desirable but not essential. You will be an exceptional communicator with the ability to adapt your style to fit the learners on any given day, and it would be a huge advantage if you can kōrero Māori within the context of your role.

A full drivers license and the ability to travel/stay outside of the Auckland region on occasions is essential.
