Project Manager Nelson Provincial Museum This is a 0.5FTE (20hrs p/w) position, and is fixed-term for a period of two years Nelson Provincial Museum is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support Museum operations by working with core staff and contractors to oversee projects from planning through to completion, ensuring projects are on time and within budget.

Key Functions and Responsibilities of the Project Manager Role:

•To work with staff to produce detailed project plans and critical paths for a variety of
  core projects
• To work with staff to monitor progress against deadlines
• To identify roadblocks and to report these to CEO as project sponsor
• To build detailed budgets for key components
• To proactively monitor and identify funding and sponsorship sources
• To maintain a grant register and application schedule
• To work with the CEO and senior staff to prepare funding and grant applications
• To identify risks and maintain project risk registers
• Liaise with external contractors to obtain quotes and seek second opinions
• Facilitate procurement process for external contracts according to Museum policy
  and processes

To prepare reports for the CEO The ideal candidate will have:
• Outstanding project management experience
• Demonstrated budgeting skills
• Ability to work with a wide range of people including stakeholders and contractors to
  achieve the desired outcome
• Report writing experience
• A successful track record in preparing funding applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with building projects
• Experience with infrastructure projects including IT
• Experience in the museum/heritage sector
