Hutt City Council
At Hutt City Council our vision is to build a connected, resilient and inclusive city where all of our people thrive - Kia noho mai tēnei tāone hei pou herenga waka, hei pou herenga kaupapa, hei wāhi whai hua ki hōna iwi.
The Dowse Art Museum is a place where people come to connect from all walks of life. It is also an ideal function venue in the heart of Lower Hutt. Busy people can enjoy a private or public event in our wonderful environment and have a chance to engage with Art and Culture as well. Our venue spaces can cater to a variety of functions and events - from small corporate meetings to Weddings and Cocktail functions or even stage productions at The Little Theatre.
About the role
This role is often the first impression a client gets of The Dowse Art Museum, Little Theatre and Hutt City Council. It is the main point of contact for all things venues and events in and around Museums. As our venue expert you will be confident and knowledgeable in your product and offering.
You'll be able to recommend the best venue and catering options then help our clients plan the event before handing over to the front of house team to deliver. Each function will receive your care and attention regardless of the size or prestige.
You will ensure that our venues and equipment are always in peak condition and when things need attention, you will coordinate maintenance and contractors as required.
We're looking for someone who cares about the detail and doesn't settle for mediocre. You will have awesome relationship building skills and can engage with people from all walks of life. You strive for excellence in all that you do, from personal presentation to documentation.
Your negotiation and collaboration skills must be honed to ensure there is always seamless service in the public eye. You will work with the front of house team and other Museums colleagues to ensure that spaces are optimised and any clashes are avoided. You will bring great technical skills and can see a function through from go to woe.
You'll be a fast learner and have an innovative approach to problem solving- our Little Theatre is a special entity and it needs someone who is committed to ensuring a positive experience for all those that use it.
We recognise rewarding you is not only about your pay, so we've outlined some of the great benefits that may be available to you as an employee of Hutt City Council here.
