 Job Description

We are seeking a part-time Rights Technician to join our Collection Information and Access team. The Rights Technician will assess, research and obtain licenses for the Museum’s varied collections. The collections and knowledge about them are often the essential basis for Museum researcher visits, exhibitions, programmes and events. This 0.5 FTE role (20 hours per week) will play an important part in ensuring the Museum’s content is accessible and can be leveraged legally and effectively by both the museum and its communities. 

 Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have the following knowledge, skills, competencies and experience in the following areas:

  • A Tertiary qualification in a relevant field  
  • Proven research and reference skills relating to cultural heritage
  • Understanding of legislative and cultural frameworks which relate to access to and reuse of digital content and collection items  
  • Be able to work in a collaborative and supportive team environment  
  • Good listener & communicator
  • Proven attention to detail
