Māngungu – Horeke Northland
Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga manages some of the country’s most iconic historic properties with Māngungu being one of them. Established on the spectacular Hokianga Harbour in 1828 as a Wesleyan Mission station, on 12th February 1840 this simple building was witness to the largest national signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.
We are looking for an energetic team player to join our small team. The Visitor Host, reporting to the Property Lead, will be responsible for the daily operations of this property. The role is varied and interesting and involves welcoming and guiding visitors, administration, security and housekeeping.
Our ideal candidate will have outstanding customer service skills and training and/or experience in a relevant field such as event management, tourism or heritage would be an advantage.
Though the role is based at Māngungu there is an expectation of occasional flexible working across the other properties in this area, Clendon House Rawene and Te Waimate Mission.
The role includes working on weekends on a regular basis with some evenings for events. The role is 3 days per week over the summer season (December- April), which could be fulfilled by one or two part-timers
