Clendon House – Rawene Northland
Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga manages some of the country’s most iconic historic properties with Clendon House being the one of Hokianga’s key heritage sites.
Built in 1862, Clendon House is the fascinating home of Captain James Reddy Clendon, ship owner, trader and witness to the Treaty of Waitangi, the house also celebrates his wife Jane, of Hokianga Māori descent.
We are looking for an energetic team player to join our small team. The Visitor Host, reporting to the Property Lead, will be responsible for the daily operations of this property. The role is varied and interesting and involves welcoming and guiding visitors, administration, security and housekeeping.
Our ideal candidate will have outstanding customer service skills and training and/or experience in a relevant field such as event management, tourism or heritage would be an advantage.
Though the role is based at Clendon House Rawene there is an expectation of occasional flexible working across the other properties in this area, Māngungu and Te Waimate Mission
The role includes working on weekends on a regular basis with some evenings for events. The role is
2 days per week, with some extra days in summer, which could be fulfilled by one or two part-timers.
