EMP Preferred Accommodation

There are accommodation options http://ma16.org.nz/accommodation/ at all levels of budget. To book a low-cost accommodation option you will need to contact the provider directly. Our suggestion is the Ponsonby Backpackers https://www.ponsonby-backpackers.co.nz/, located at 2 Franklin Road, Freemans Bay.

For kiwi delegates: if you are having difficulty funding your travel, National Services Te Paerangi is pleased to support MA16 by offering travel subsidies to staff and volunteers working in museum sector organisations. For grant criteria and application forms please see their website https://www.tepapa.govt.nz/NationalServices/HowWeHelp/Pages/TravelSubsidyGrant.aspx

Australian Bursaries

A number of bursaries will be available for Australian MA members to attend the conference. Most state/territory branches and many of the National Networks will be running a bursary program.

Federal funding will be made available for a number of Indigenous delegates to attend.

There is no Federal funding available this year to support regional/remote/community museum delegates. A separate Regional Remote and Community Museum Day will be held in Victoria in the second half of 2016.

EMP Dinner

The Auckland EMPs are hosting an informal dinner after the mini-conference for even more networking in a more casual environment. The cost is $25. Get your dinner ticket when you register for MA16.

EMP Pitopito Korero

The EMPs have two Pitopito Korero (Pecha Kucha) sessions on Tuesday 17 May from 2 – 5pm within the main conference programme. Come along to support your colleagues and hear even more from Emerging Museum Professions.

Thank you to the National Portrait Gallery Australia for sponsorship of this event.
