Nau mai, haere mai ki te Ara Whānui o te Ao.
MA17 delegates are invited to a GLAMorous Soirée, hosted by the Palmerston North City Library – The Living Room of the City.
The City Library’s transformation and extension of the heritage DIC building into the "living room of the city" in 1996 was innovative. Since then 18 million visitors have made use of its resources, programmes, events and spaces.
It is a place of experience, innovation, creativity, and engagement with ideas – a place where physical and digital media come together. A place where you can find things out, learn new skills or simply relax and enjoy the vibe.
Turangawaewae - a place for all for all to stand. A kaupapa of engaging the community, respecting the integrity of a heritage building and an being an active participant in the city's cultural hub.
The evening will reveal how the Living Room of the City activates its roles as a library, archive and programs and events space and how it has embraced social inclusion and cultural diversity.
Expect delectable delicacies, interspersed with intermezzi.
