Otago Museum has been telling stories of nature, culture and science from Otago, Aotearoa New Zealand, and the world since 1868.
From pinned insects to antiquities, Japanese armour to moa eggs, the Otago Museum collection holds more than 1.5 million items.
Seven free galleries with guided tours available. Tūhura Otago Community Trust Science Centre is New Zealand’s only fully interactive science centre, including 45 hands-on science interactives, a planetarium, a butterfly enclosure, and a laser activated digital gallery. Follow the Kāi Tahu creation whakapapa to gain an insight into a Māori understanding of the world we live in.
