The National Paleontological Collection (NPC) is a research collection of New Zealand fossil material, with a small number of overseas specimens, representing over 150 years of geoscience research led by GNS Science and its predecessors. The NPC is a Nationally Significant Collection and Database of which GNS Science is the custodian. Access to the collection is by appointment only. Some items from the NPC can be viewed by the public at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa or at other specially-organised exhibits.
