We have a collection of ex-Wellington City trams ranging from an original 1904 model to the last tram built in New Zealand, in 1952. Many of the trams are in working order and are operated on the Museum's two kilometre tramway which runs across Queen Elizabeth Park to Whareroa Beach, while others are being restored. We also have on display a collection of tramway memorabilia, historical items and photographs outlining the major social impact of city tramways in the 20th century. In addition an old Wellington (Kelburn) cable car and trailer are on display.
