The National WOW® Museum is home to two world-class collections; the World of WearableArtTM exhibition and the Nelson Classic Car Collection.

At the heart of WOW is a renowned international design competition. Using the human body as a blank canvas, designers from around the world create works of wearable art to be exhibited in the annual WOW Awards Show in Wellington.

The National WOW Museum in Nelson gives visitors the opportunity to see these garments up close and appreciate the talent behind the world’s most extraordinary works of wearable art.

In the adjoining galleries of the museum, the Nelson Classic Car Collection showcases 120 classic cars, representing over 100 years of motoring history. A car used by presidents, and the most expensive car ever made for its time are some of the treasures visitors can expect to discover. This eclectic private collection is one of Australasia’s largest.

The museum complex also features a café and retail shop.
