Aigantighe Art Gallery in Timaru is the home of art in South Canterbury, with a rich collection and diverse exhibition programme. Its name is Scottish Gaelic for ‘at home’ and is pronounced ‘egg and tie’.
Set in park-like grounds the Aigantighe holds an extensive permanent collection shown in the original Edwardian house, and the modern wing displays the work of local artists and also hosts travelling exhibitions from around the country.
