Operating hours: Monday-Friday 10.30am - 4.30pm. Weekends and public holidays 1pm - 4.30pm. Closed Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

The Waitaki District Council is redeveloping the Forrester Gallery (housed in a category 1 Heritage NZ listed building) by refurbishing the building and constructing an adjoining building to its east. In order to prepare for this project the hours and programme offering at the Museum have been reduced and from late 2018 the programming and opening hours of the Gallery may also be affected.
