Operating hours: Open Monday-Friday 9am-4.30pm, Saturday-Sunday 9am-3pm Closed New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Christmas and Boxing Days. For all other public holiday hours please phone 03 203 9288. Hokonui Heritage Research Centre: Tuesday 1-4.30pm, Sunday 1-3pm Other times by arrangement. Closed public holidays.

Celebrating the district’s social history, the Museum collections cover the arrival of southern Māori, early European settlers, and the resulting enterprise that made this district unique. Included are exhibitions on Sgt Dan and Creamoata Mill while ‘Hook, Line and Sinker’ is dedicated to fly fishing on the Mataura River.
