Museums Aotearoa surveyed over 100 public museums and galleries between 15 and 27 April 2020, during Covid-19 Alert Level 4 - total lockdown.

Respondents were a representative sample of the sector.

The main themes are:

concerns about the welfare of staff and volunteers
loss of income and financial implications
effects on programming and uncertainties about future public engagement
