There are various funds available or in planning to support museums and galleries through the effects of COVID-19. As well as the $2m Museum Hardship Fund, the Ministry for Culture & Heritage is working on three other funds:

  • Cultural Sector Capability Fund - $20m / 2yrs
  • Creative Arts Recovery and Employment (CARE) Fund - $70m / 3yrs
  • Cultural Sector Innovation Fund - $60m / 3yrs

From Wednesday 9 to Tuesday 22 September, MCH is seeking to engage with stakeholders as the criteria are developed. All the details are available on the MCH website with specific downloads here. Museums Aotearoa will be taking part in consultation and making a submission.

This zui is an opportunity to share the impacts of the pandemic on your work and your organisation, inform MA advocacy and your own feedback, and explore ways in which these new funds might help us all through to a stronger future.
