This is the final draft of the revised Museums Aotearoa Code of Ethics & Professional Practice for Governing Bodies, Manager and Staff of Museums and Art Galleries in Aotearoa New Zealand. 

It is intended for ratification at the Annual General Meeting on 24 June 2021.  Any comments can be sent to by Thursday 10 June 2021.


ICOM Definition of museum - Aotearoa New Zealand

SInce the 2019 ICOM Triennial, engagement has been conducted with ICOM's National and International Committees towards a new definition of museum. This is the contribution from ICOM Aotearoa New Zealand, submitted to the Committee for Museum Definitions, Prospects and Potential 2 (MDPP 2) in April 2021.
