Te Manawa Museum of Art, Science and Heritage is looking for an Exhibition Technician with the skills and passion to bring a wide range of ideas to life.
You will be part of a team that ensures the fulfilment of high-end exhibitions with the use of multiple-media platforms, and utilising your basic electronic circuitry and coding skills. Effective communication and a ‘can-do’ attitude will be essential in this role.
Understanding how to use workshop machinery and equipment, will allow you to create exhibits safely. Your sound knowledge of museum lighting standards and techniques, along with your eye for detail, will ensure that exhibitions are displayed in a way that is engaging and unique.
Being efficient, well-organised, and methodical will be essential in ensuring exhibition installation/de-installation occurs in a timely manner. You will have the initiative to work autonomously with minimal supervision and be able to proactively resolve any problems you encounter.
Your knowledge of the Health and Safety Act will be essential as will your ability to apply health and safety procedures in a busy environment. You will be working with external contractors, volunteers and staff members towards the delivery of exhibits.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a relevant trade qualification and experience which you will utilise to plan, construct and install exhibitions. A drivers licence and forklift license are essential.
